Environmentalists immediate reply to any scientist questioning global warming is to say “they are working for the oil companies”. In other words, their profit or income is based on denying that the planet’s future is in danger due to global warming. I would debate that point alone, but the hypocrisy of these same environmentalists concerning Al Gore is more outrageous.
Many are saying that Al Gore will be the first “carbon billionaire”. Gore’s venture capital firm invests in “green companies”. A recent story said Gore’s firm gave Silver Springs Networks of California $75 million to develop energy saving technology. The company produces hardware and software to make the electricity grid more efficient. In November 09 the New York Times reported that the Energy Department announced $3.4 billion in energy grid grants. $560 million went to utilities with Silver Spring contracts. This one investment is going to pay Gore handsomely.
There are many examples of how his company stands to make ridiculous amounts of money from all over the world. He is in the midst of the carbon trading schemes, which is nothing more than a Robin Hood tactic that will do nothing to stop global warming.
Gore reminds me of the televangelists of the 80′s. Preaching about helping all the poor people, crying for donations, then building a personal empire with toilets made of gold. He may actually believe what he is teaching, but money is his motivation.
I wonder what Gore honestly thinks right now. Since the release of his movie “Inconvenient Truth”, global warming science has been turned upside down. Many points of his movie have been proven utterly false (remember the hockey stick illustration – wrong!). I feel for Al because, like me, he is not a scientist. Understanding climate science is not easy. I cringe every time I hear Chris Matthews (Hardball) claim that global warming science is high school stuff. He is trying to make those questioning the science look stupid, but he is broadcasting his own ignorance of the science.
The debate should really be about science, but the proponents of global warming disaster keep bringing up the money factor. “Who is paying off these deniers?” Okay fine, then what does this say about your guy, Al Gore? Will you condemn his science based on the fact that he stands to make billions if we all accept his ideas. Most scientists are just looking for government grants, but Gore will make the Queen of England look like a bag lady. I hope you admit the hypocrisy and make a stand.
I don’t question that global temperatures may have risen a degree in the last century. I don’t question that the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere has increased due to man. But, so what? The sun could turn the planet to ashes in seconds. If the earth moved off it’s axis every living thing would burn up or freeze in a moment. Don’t tell me the future of earth depends on man consuming 20% less. Don’t expect me to support “Cap and Trade” or climate change treaties. Don’t expect me to attend the next award ceremony for Al Gore.

You aren’t suggesting that this was a mere donation are you? I think you meant to say Gores firm aquired a position with Silver Springs Networks for $75 million. I think this would be a little more accurate. And how did Gore ‘s firm know that the company would get $560 million in free taxpayer grant money? Easy, inside information. This is bald faced insider trading; buying a position with a company which would recieve a huge load of tax money when investors on the outside have no access to this information. This tax money flows directly into the coffers of Silver Springs and directly increases share price. That’s not legal.
And to think that Martha Stewart went to jail for a melesly $5000 insider trading, what should Gore get?
Global Warming is a total scam. To say that the total average temperature of the total planet has increased 3/4 of a degree F. in the past 100 years is ludicrous and you don’t need to be a PhD climatologist to know that. It is often 10 degrees warmer or colder at 2 spots 10 miles apart. If spot A is 0 degrees and point B which is 10 miles away is 10 degrees then the average temperature is 5 degrees.
However, if the temperature was taken at 1 mile intervals and the first 9 miles were 0 degrees and the last mile was 10 degrees then the average temperature is 1 degree. Using that example it is easy to see that to know what the average total temperature of the planet is to 1 degree, you would have to have a temperature sensing station every mile over the entire surface of the planet. That is not hardly the case. In fact there are essentially no temperature sensing stations on the oceans and they cover 2/3 to 3/4 of the surface of the planet!
From what I have explained it is easy to see that scientists don’t hardly know what the average temperature of the planet is to within 30 to 40 degrees F.! Anyone with an 8th grade mathematics background that can think can see this. There is no way that anyone can say that the temperature of the planet has increased 3/4 of a degree F. over the past 100 years.
Why do they claim that this bogus increase in temperature has occurred over the past 100 years? Because the industrial revolution started about 100 years ago. If they didn’t claim the increase in temp. was over the past 100 years there would be no connection of the temp. with “greenhouse gasses”.
I was interested to learn that CO2 covers about .04% of the atmosphere. That works out to 1/ 4 thousandths of the total atmosphere. There is no way that a small variation of that small amount could make any difference to the total temperature.
The above being true, why are they telling us this huge lie? Van Jones, Obama’s x-green czar let the cat out of the bag in one of his speeches. He said that the Green Movement was the “spearhead” of a movement to increase government control until this country has a Socialist/communist government.
We all need to wake up! The Government health care take over is for the same purpose! Obama and his cohorts are in the process of trying to end our Democracy and our system of Free Enterprise!
