Is Obama a Muslem Extremist?

Friday, July 30th, 2010

It makes me sad to hear a few of my conservative friends make their crazy claims about Obama. Whether it is questioning his birth or his religion, it is all wrong or simply unfair. They might as well believe Charles Manson really is Jesus.

Here is what I have noticed about Muslim extremists – they hang out with each other, attend mosques, hate America, and adhere to a lifestyle based on the Koran. Obama is guilty of joining and attendingĀ  a Christian church for over 20 years, hung out with 60′s radicals, and belonged to liberal organizations. Does evidence even matter to the people making these accusations?

Why can’t we just disagree with Obama’s philosophy without trying to destroy the man and his family? He believes that the government is the best solution to social problems. So the government is getting bigger by the minute. He thinks professors make the best decision makers. So there is not much common sense being used to handle the nations problems. He is not a big believer in capitalism, but he does take a lot of nice vacations. The bottom line – not exactly the philosophy or lifestyle of Bin Laden.

Get a grip people. Stop attacking the man’s character and began offering common sense solutions to our problems. And by the way, help the economy by working harder and spending more.

Why is Race the Most Important Issue?

Monday, July 26th, 2010

Millions are out of work, the country is trillions in debt, Afghanistan is worsening, and the future looks bleak. The good news is that America elected it’s first black president and the race issue is now on the back burner, right?

Only in politics and the press is racism the supreme issue of the land. I am really getting sick of it. I am not saying that there is not a problem with race, there is, and always will be as long as people are different. Race has now become the lens that every issue is viewed through.

If one disagrees with Obama it is because of race. If an illegal immigrant is arrested it is because of race. The NAACP declared officially a couple of weeks ago that the Tea Party was racist. If this trend continues our country will never return to it’s greatness.

We need to change the tone and direction of the race discussion. I have a suggestion on where to start. Take race out of the census. The only question asked about the people living in a household was what color they were.

A final suggestion for everyone is to grow a spine. If the worst thing that happens is someone calls you a derogatory name, then life is really pretty good. It wasn’t that many generations ago that there were lynchings and slavery. This is no longer happening. Progress is being made toward reducing race discrimination with education and toleration continuing.

The most racist thing that can be done today is this – point your finger at another person or group and call them racist.

Will Obama Be Re-Elected?

Friday, July 9th, 2010

I like Obama personally, but I have never been a fan of his politics. I did not vote for him in 2008 and I will not vote for him in 2012. My son made the comment the other day that there is no way he can be elected again. I told him he was wrong. Here’s why. (more…)

What Do Immigration and Small Business Issues Tell Us about Obama?

Saturday, July 3rd, 2010

Politics has become dreadful. It is a necessary evil. It is more important than ever that citizens stay tuned in and do what they can to change this sick political environment. The issues of illegal immigration and small business are important for our economy, they say a ton about our president, and illustrate our current political situation. (more…)

Should More Women Be in Politics?

Sunday, June 27th, 2010

I’m not just any man. I was raised on a farm in Tennessee with all brothers. The men did the outside work and my poor mother did all the cooking, washing, and all other inside work. She never lifted a single bale of hay and I never washed a single plate. I am a conservative and feminists would hate me if they knew me. With that said, I believe we need more women in politics and leadership. (more…)

What Will Blago’s Illinois Corruption Trial Mean for Obama?

Thursday, June 3rd, 2010

I live in Chicago and the trial of our famous governor, Rod Blagojevich, has begun. Rod’s lawyers tried to subpoena Obama but the judge said no. They did successfully subpoena Rahm Emanuel and Valerie Jarret, two key members of Obama’s inner circle and fellow Chicagoan’s. This trial could get ugly, or juicy, depending on your perspective. What Does the Tea Party Have Right and the Liberals Have Wrong about Economics?

Sunday, May 16th, 2010

I’ve never been to a tea party rally. Come to think of it, I’ve never been to an afternoon tea. I am dismayed at the coverage of the tea party in the media. If you can get around the ugly truth that most of these demonstrators appear to be middle class whites, there is some logic to their argument. And I can’t say the same about the liberals. (more…)

Why Do Politicans like Oil and Greece?

Thursday, May 13th, 2010

I miss the healthcare debate. That was an issue you could sink your teeth into. The issues today are just not exciting. I hope Greece can fix their financial problem and I expect we will eventually fix our oil spill problem, but the politics surrounding these and other issues is a dumbing experience. (more…)

What is the Problem With Government Regulations and Reform?

Wednesday, April 14th, 2010

Congress is working overtime on reforms. After a year long debate, they passed healthcare reform and have now moved on to finance reform. These new laws and regulations are added to existing rules. The problem? They haven’t enforced the laws already on the books! (more…)

Why Am I Mad?

Wednesday, April 7th, 2010

I don’t belong to the Tea Party or Coffee Party. I can’t join any movements right now because I am not making ends meet. I have unending financial pressures that is generating enough blood pressure to boil water. You know what is making it worse? The politicians and media that say I’m critical of government control because I am racist and ignorant. Ring the bell, I’m ready to fight! (more…)
