It was just announced that the prisoners from Gitmo will be brought to a maximum security prison in Illinois. It won’t happen quickly because the law is in the way. It happens to be against the law to bring enemy combatants, captured outside the country, into the country for imprisonment and trial. The Guantanamo Detention Center was specifically built to imprison terrorists and treat them as war criminals to be tried in a military court.
